“Skating away on the thin ice of the New Day”
“That the Universal Mind (!) has written you into the Passion Play
And as you cross the circle line, the ice-wall creaks behind —
You’re a rabbit on the run.
And the silver splinters fly in the corner of your eye —
Shining in the setting sun.
Well, do you ever get the feeling that the story’s
Too damn real and in the present tense?
Or that everybody’s on the stage, and it seems like
You’re the only person sitting in the audience?
Skating away on the thin ice of the New Day”
by Ian Anderson – Jethro Tull

These lyrics bounce around in my head as Sometimes I Wonder (as I’m sure some of you do too!) of a whatever named god, did he or she or it create this earth, this universe just for us?
Are we the center of all life, the rest there for our taking, to shape, to engineer, to consume. to destroy but ever so rarely to let be without our footprint left behind?
I sometimes wonder have we gotten it so wrong, when did it happen? was there another path we should have taken?
There is no going back, but where to we go from here?
How much are we willing to give up, to how have a different outcome?

To the about me; I’m a landscaper who enjoys what his does, yet I pretty sure what I do isn’t right
I don’t have answers, but I do sometimes wonder what they should be.

  4. Hi Jon, I remember seeing Tull at Wolf Trap outside Washington, DC when I was 16 or 17; great experience, great sound; full of meaning and passion of time before time.

And yes, You did create the Universe and the Earth for Yourself. Who did You think did it? You did and do still! (‘I’ did and do still) 🙂 Peace on Earth, Ik

You can see it on my blog at: http://susanneleist.wordpress.com/ If you choose to nominate your fellow bloggers, all you have to do is share with 15 bloggers and share their links. And then link back to my blog. You don’t have to do the 7 facts about yourself. Thanks, Susanne

  10. I am glad you like my spin on Hypocrites. Who soever did land this earth on us, I’m sure landscapers are closer than most of us. I look forward to browsing.

    1. Thanks for the comments, I’m not sure if in general landscapers are any better with the environment than others. With their use of chemicals, replacing what was there with what they thinks is better, more showy, more color.
A million cuts on the ecosystem.

  11. Thank you for reading one of my articles. I hope you find more that interest you and are worth your time. I saw some very interesting work of yours that provokes a bit of thought on my part, a connection I always find very pleasant.

      1. You are most welcome, I agree.
Perhaps that is why I enjoy making small terrariums, aquascapes, and working with mosses as you have to really focus on the small details. It’s also fascinating that some of the smallest plants and animals on earth are actually some of the most successful.
Thank you for liking my blog, I look forward to seeing more great photos and posts from you soon 🙂
        Marc
